PET bottle Recycling Washing Line (bottle-to-flake)

The PET bottle-to-flake washing line is a recycling process that transforms post-consumed PET bottles into clean, high-quality flakes.

Key steps include:

Sorting & Pre-treatment – Removing caps/labels and coarse contaminants.

Crushing – Shredding bottles into small flakes.

Washing – Multi-stage cleaning (hot alkali, friction, floating separation) to remove adhesives, residues, and impurities.

Rinsing & Drying – Purifying flakes and removing moisture.

Quality Control – Metal detection, color sorting, and filtration for purity.

Components of PET bottle Recycling Washing Line:

Belt conveyor

Belt material: Rubber/PVC/Metal chain.

Equipped with wheels for easy moving, with tightening device.

 

Bale Breaker (opener)

opens the tight bales of PET bottles

 

Trommel screen (Rotary-drum separator )

Separates stones, caps, sands, any possible contaminates off.

Label remover

Dry friction system. Removes 80-90% of labels and caps before crushing.

Sorting belt with metal-detector

Removal of non-PET materials (PVC, metals, colored bottles)

Detects and removes metal flakes, prevents from getting into crusher chamber.

Granulator / Crusher with force feeder

Grinds PET bottles to 12-20mm flakes.

Improved knife structure, higher output, wet crushing.

High speed Friction washer

Removes stubborn contaminants by friction scrubbing and flushing water.

 

Flotation washing tank (Sink-Float Tank)

Gravity/density separation.

Separates PET (sinks) from PVC/PE (sink).

Hot Washing machine/ steam washer

Temperature: 85-95°C

Detergent/soda concentration: 1-3%

Removes surface dirt (oil/glue) and adhesives.

Mechanical agitation for deep cleaning.

Heat up by gas/diesel/petrol/LPG

Horizontal dewatering machine ( Dehydrator / Centrifugal dryer)

Rotation speed: 1500 RPM

Moisture reduction to 0.5-2%

Removes alkaline liquid (in the middle of line).

Removes surface water from PET flakes (at the end of line).

Hot-air dryer

Electrical heater. Final moisture: <1%

Zig-Zag Label separator with rotary valve (Air classifier)

Further removal of labels and dust.

Electrical Control cabinet

Control and monitors the whole PET bottle washing line.
