Product Description
Heavy-duty Plastic Crusher (Grinder)
Main Structure & Components
A plastic crusher is a size-reduction machine designed to break down plastic waste into smaller flakes or particles for recycling. Plastic crushers are essential for small-to-medium recycling operations, offering high efficiency, adjustable particle size, and low operational costs. They work best with both rigid and flexible plastics, complementing shredders in a full recycling line.
Key structural components include
- Crushing Chamber
Rotor Assembly – A high-speed rotating shaft with mounted blades (typically 3-6 rows of blades).
Fixed Blades (Counter Knives) – Stationary blades that work with rotor blades for shearing action.
Screen (Mesh Grate) – Controls output particle size (common sizes: 8-100mm).
- Feeding & Discharge System
Hopper – Wide-mouth design for feeding bulk plastic waste.
Pusher System (Optional) – Hydraulic or pneumatic ram for forcing materials into blades.
Discharge Conveyor (Optional) – Transports crushed material to next process.
- Drive & Control System
High-Speed Motor (15-132 kW typical, depending on capacity) and belt pulley.
Safety Sensors – Overload protection, auto-reverse for jamming.
- Frame & Soundproofing
Heavy-Duty Steel Frame – Vibration-dampening design.
Noise-Reduction Enclosure – Optional for urban/indoor use.
Applications in Plastic Recycling
Plastic crushers are widely used for:
✅ Pre-shredding – Breaking large plastic items (bottles, containers, films, bags, pipes) before granulation.
✅ Post-Consumer Waste Processing – Crushing PET bottles, PET packing straps, HDPE containers, drums, barrels, HDPE LDPE LLDPE films, PVC pipes, profiles, PC PS PA, EPE EPS expanded foam plastics.
✅ Industrial Scrap Recycling – Reject parts, purgings, sprues from injection molding.
✅ WEEE (E-Waste) Recycling – Shredding plastic housings from electronics.
Differences from shredder:
Faster but less torque (better for brittle/thin plastics).
Smaller output size than shredders (more uniform flakes).
Maintenance & Optimization
Blade Sharpening/Replacement – Dull blades increase power consumption.
Screen Cleaning – Prevents clogging for consistent output.
Bearing Lubrication – Reduces wear on high-speed rotor.
Avoid Overloading – Feed material evenly to prevent jamming.
Industry Applications
Bottle-to-Flake Recycling – Crushing PET/HDPE bottles for washing lines.
Injection Molding Scrap – Re-grinding sprues & rejects for reuse.
Film Recycling Plants – Pre-crushing LDPE/LLDPE rolls before agglomeration.
